How to create a physical signed mandate

Simple steps on how to create a physical signed mandate

1. To get started, log into your dashboard, and navigate to Mandates.

2. Click the 'Create a mandate' button at the top-right corner of the screen.

3. Choose the mandate type, i.e. Signed mandate and click "Continue".

4. Select the preferred method i.e Physical mandate and click "Continue".

5. Select the specific payment app e.g. Quickstart. To learn how to create a payment app, follow the steps outlined in this article.


6. Click the (+) icon to upload a copy of the physical mandate document.


6. After the upload is complete, the system will automatically extract and display the account name and bank name at the bottom of the page. Once verified, click "Continue" to proceed.


7. Review all the displayed information, manually input any missing details, and then click "Confirm Mandate.

  • Customer: The name of the customer

  • Bank: The bank name of the customer

  • Account number: Customer's account number

  • Debit type: Fixed or Variable

  • Amount: Mandate amount

  • Start date: The date should be at least 3 days into the future

  • End date: The date the mandate is ending

  • Description: Brief information about the mandate


8. Voila! Your physical mandate has been uploaded successfully and sent to the bank for processing.

The mandate status on the Mono dashboard will reflect either "Approved" or "Rejected," depending on the outcome of the bank's processing.
