Blacklisting a customer will prevent them from further verification or access due to potential risks or fraud concerns.

Here are some reasons why an individual could get blacklisted:

  1. Legal Violations: confirmed involvement in illegal activities that compromise the integrity of the verified identity (e.g., tax fraud, identity theft, or online scams).

  2. Reports from External Agencies: being flagged by law enforcement, financial institutions, or other external organisations for fraudulent behaviour.

  3. Association with Blacklisted Entities: direct connections to individuals or accounts that have been previously flagged for fraud.

  4. Use of Verified Account for Fraudulent Activity: utilising the verified status to commit fraud, such as creating fake merchant accounts or engaging in phishing scams.

  5. Fraudulent Claims Against Verified Identity: filing false chargebacks, disputes, or claims using their verified identity.

Steps to blacklist a customer on the Mono Dashboard

  1. To blacklist a customer, log into your Mono dashboard, then navigate to "Prove" on your sidebar.

  2. Click on "Verification".

  3. Navigate to the name of the customer or use the search bar to search the customer you want to blacklist and click on the three dots as shown in the image.

  4. Then, click on "Blacklist user".

  5. A modal will pop up asking if you are sure you want to blacklist this customer and the reason why.

  6. Select a reason from the list of reasons in the drop-down as shown below.

  7. Finally, that customer will be blacklisted and you can find them on the Blacklist section of the Mono dashboard.
