Can I have multiple mandates on a single account?

Yes, you can set multiple mandates on a single account, but you need to wait for approval on one mandate before you set a new one.

How do we track the status of the Direct Debit?

We send webhooks as well as provide status endpoints for a business to track all mandate and debit operations.

How long does it take a mandate to be authorized?

This depends on the authorization method and varies from bank to bank:

  1. For E-Mandates: 1 - 3 minutes (except GTB which currently takes up to 8hrs)

  2. For Signed mandate: 1-3 business days.

Is there a limit on the number of times a partner can debit the user's account?

There is no limit on this.

Can the user cancel the debit?

No. However, we provide an API endpoint for you to cancel a running mandate.

Is there a limit on the total amount that can be debited?

Mono Direct Debit, currently supports a maximum amount of ₦25 million for personal accounts and ₦200 million for corporate accounts.
