As a registered business, you are required to activate your account on Mono and complete compliance before you can access Mono APIs and services. If you haven’t activated your business on Mono yet, here’s a simple guide to help you.

What happens after you send an account activation request?

After you have submitted your account activation request on the Mono dashboard, here are possible responses you might receive and what each response means.

Business KYC IN REVIEW: This means your account activation is pending approval and feedback will be sent to your email within 24 - 48 hours. If you have not received feedback after the 48-hour wait period, please reach out to our team via any of our support channels and share your business name and email.

Usually, after the 24 - 48 hour window, we send either of the following responses to your email.

  • Your Business Activation Request was Approved

  • Your Business Activation Request was Declined

Business KYC Completed: This means your activation request was approved.

Business KYC REJECTED: This means your activation request was declined and you will need to check your email for the specific reason you were rejected.

A business can be rejected for any of the following reasons:

  1. The name on the compliance document doesn't appear on the list of shareholders.

  2. The file submitted is invalid.

  3. The business' compliance document submitted isn't Nigerian for a Nigerian business.

  4. The business use case is not a match.

If your account activation request was rejected for any of the reasons highlighted above, you can always review your submission and make the corrections stated below.

  1. Ensure that the name on the compliance document appears on the list of shareholders.

  2. Ensure that the identification document uploaded is valid.

  3. Ensure that the business compliance matches the country's requirements.

  4. Ensure that your business use case matches the services offered by Mono.

How to review your submission on the Mono dashboard

  1. Login to the dashboard, click "Review" and review the details initially submitted.

  2. When you are done making your changes, you can resubmit your account activation request.

After your business activation request has been approved, you can now create an app, select a subscription plan that fits your needs as explained in this article, and use Mono services to meet your business needs.
